Prishtina Airport to the City: Bus, Taxi or Shared Ride
Prishtina International Airport "Adem Jashari" (PRN) is Kosovo's only international airport, about 15 km south-west of Prishtina. There's no train, so you have three options: the airport bus, a taxi or a shared ride.
At a glance
| Option | Time to Prishtina | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Airport bus (line 1A) | about 30–45 min | about €3, cash on board |
| Taxi | about 20–30 min | several times the bus fare |
| Shared ride (RruGO) | direct to your destination | price per seat set by the driver |
The airport bus
Line 1A, run by Prishtina's city bus company Trafiku Urban, connects the airport with Prishtina bus station, stopping in the city on the way. It runs roughly every one to two hours from morning until late evening, and you pay the driver in cash. See the airport → Prishtina timetable and the Prishtina → airport timetable.
Published fares and times for the airport line differ between sources. Check the current schedule before you fly, especially for late arrivals.
From Prishtina bus station, intercity buses go to every town in Kosovo. See all bus timetables.
Taxi
Taxis wait outside arrivals. Use a marked, licensed taxi and agree on the fare before you set off, especially if you're going beyond Prishtina.
Shared ride
Heading straight to Prizren, Peja, Gjakova or another town? Drivers on RruGO post rides from the airport, particularly around holidays and in summer, when the diaspora flies in. Search Prishtina Airport → your town. You see the driver, the time and the price per seat before you book, and you pay the driver in cash.
- Landing late? Buses thin out in the evening. A shared ride or a pre-arranged lift is often the easiest option.
- Flight delayed? Message your driver in the app to let them know.
Going to the airport
Leave plenty of time, especially in July–August and around New Year when queues at check-in and security get long. If you take the bus, go for an earlier one than you think you need.
