Does your phone support eSIM?

Most recent phones do: iPhone XR, XS and newer; Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Z Flip and Z Fold; Google Pixel 3 and newer. Many cheaper models (for example some Samsung Galaxy A or Xiaomi phones) do not.

Quickest check: dial *#06#. If an EID number shows up, your phone supports eSIM. The phone also has to be unlocked (not tied to one carrier).

How much data do I need for a week in Cyprus?

For messaging, maps and some social media, 3 GB is usually enough. If you make video calls or stream, take 5 to 10 GB.

When does the plan start?

Most plans start when your phone connects to a network in Cyprus, not when you buy it, so you can buy and install it days before you leave.

Do I lose my number?

No. Your own SIM stays in the phone for calls and texts, and you use the eSIM for data. Turn off data roaming for your own SIM so you are not charged for roaming.

Does the eSIM work all over Cyprus?

Yes, it connects to the main networks in Cyprus (Vodafone, Epic (5G)), in cities and on the road.

Do I lose my number?

No. Your physical SIM stays in the phone, so you can still get calls and texts. Use the eSIM for data so you never pay data roaming.

Does the eSIM have a phone number?

No, it is data only. WhatsApp, Viber and other apps keep working with your usual number.

How do I install it on iPhone?

On your order page tap "Install on iPhone". Or scan the QR code from another device under Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM.

How do I install it on Android?

Go to Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM (names vary a little by phone) and scan the QR code. You can also type it in: the SM-DP+ address and activation code are on your order page.

Can I reuse it for another trip?

Each eSIM is for one plan. For your next trip, buy a new plan. Don't delete the eSIM from your phone until the plan is over: a deleted eSIM cannot be installed again.

What if it does not work?

Check that the eSIM is selected for mobile data and that roaming is on for it. If it still won't connect, email support@rrugo.com with your order email. If the eSIM has not been installed yet, we can cancel it and refund you.
