How to Check Bus Times in Kosovo (and What to Do When There Is No Bus)

Finding a bus timetable in Kosovo has traditionally meant asking at the station, reading a handwritten board, or calling the company. RruGO now shows intercity bus times right next to car rides: more than 3,500 scheduled departures on over 150 routes between 27 towns and Prishtina Airport.

Checking bus times, step by step

1. Download RruGO from the App Store or Google Play. The app is available in English.
2. Open Find rides and choose where you're leaving from and where you're going, for example Prishtina → Peja.
3. Pick a date and time. Results show car rides and buses for that route around that time.
4. Read the bus card. Each bus shows the company, departure and arrival time, and the fare marked Price at the bus. Tap Info for more details.

When there's no direct bus

Not every pair of towns has a direct bus. When there isn't one, RruGO can suggest a connection with one change. It shows which town you change in and how long you'll wait between buses, so you can see the whole journey before you set off.

When the bus doesn't suit you

Buses are cheap and frequent in the daytime, but they stop early and thin out on Sundays. If nothing works:

• Check car rides in the same results. People driving your route post their free seats, often at times when no buses run.
• Set up a ride alert. If no ride is posted yet, RruGO notifies you when one appears for your route.
• Ride full? Ask to be notified, and you'll hear as soon as a seat opens up.

Tips for riding buses in Kosovo

• Pay in cash on board. Bus fares are paid to the driver or conductor, not in the app. Small notes help.
• Check the days. Many departures run Monday to Saturday only. On Sunday some routes drop to a fraction of their weekday service.
• Plan around the last bus. Intercity service usually ends between 19:00 and 21:00.
• Expect busy buses at peak times: Friday and Sunday evenings, public holidays, and July–August, when the diaspora is home.
• Timetables change. We update them regularly, but operators can change times at short notice. If a trip really matters, arrive early.
